View exampleA CV example is only worth reading if somebody wrote the CV. Most of what gets published under that heading is a layout with placeholder text in it, or a list of qualities you ought to be demonstrating. The five pages here print the wording: a profile paragraph and four or five experience bullets, with real volumes in them, for a job that has been described properly first. They are not for copying, because the figures in them are not yours. They are there so you can see how much weight one specific number carries, then go and find the same number in your own last two years.
Five roles, each with the CV written out
Every page names what that job is judged on, prints the extract, then reads it back line by line.
- Admin assistant. A primary school office: 420 pupil records, the central diary for a leadership team of four, and one checkable incident during a system migration.
- Customer service adviser. A regional insurer, around 45 calls a day alongside live chat, and complaints taken at the first stage of a written procedure.
- Sales executive. A £400,000 quota with the average deal size and the cycle length sitting next to it, because an unsized number is not evidence.
- Retail manager. Shrinkage held at 0.9% against a 1.2% target, 900 contracted hours scheduled a week, and a Christmas peak staffed with 14 seasonal starters.
- Hospitality manager. An independent 60-cover restaurant: covers a week, food gross profit at 68%, wages at 29%, and the rota underneath.
Every figure belongs to a written candidate, and no employer in them is real.
Picking the closest role, not the exact title
There is no page for your exact job title and you do not need one. What transfers between two CVs is the shape of the evidence, not the noun on the top line. If you keep records, run a diary and chase the things that have gone wrong, the admin assistant CV example is your page whether your title says administrator, coordinator or office junior.
If you run people and a budget inside a building that customers walk into, read the retail manager and hospitality manager pages together. One is sized by shrinkage and rostered hours, the other by covers and gross profit, and between them they show most of what an operations reader checks for.
Then run your own CV through the CV review against the advert you are applying to, and see how many of its essential criteria you already evidence.
From the example to your own CV
Start by gathering the details behind your own work. A stock report, rota, till summary or appraisal may help you remember the scale. Use only information you can share and figures you can support. Where numbers are unavailable, a clear description of your responsibilities is still useful.
Career Auntie can then help you shape those details around one advert. Give it your existing CV or saved career profile and the job description. It generates a tailored version of about two pages, which you can edit and download as PDF or Word. The prompt instructs the AI to use figures from your source material, so check the draft against your own record.
A tailored CV costs 1.45 credits. Your free account includes five credits each month, with no card needed to try it. Start with the role closest to your experience and one vacancy you would like to apply for.
Common questions
Can I copy one of these CVs?
Copy the shape, not the sentences. Every figure in the extracts belongs to a written candidate, so a copied bullet is a claim you cannot answer a follow-up question about, and interviewers ask about the numbers first. Use the example to work out which of your own figures are missing.
Is there a template I can download?
There is no template gallery and no blank to fill in. Career Auntie generates a finished document from your own experience instead, which you edit in place and download as PDF or Word. The extracts on these pages are written to be read and argued with, not filled in.
My job title is not one of the five. What do I do?
Pick the page whose evidence looks most like yours. A warehouse team leader is closer to the retail manager page than to anything else, because both are sized by volume, hours and loss. If you are moving between fields entirely, the career change guides map the tasks across for you.
How long should my CV be?
Two pages is the usual expectation for most UK roles, and a CV generated by Career Auntie is capped at about that. Length is rarely the real problem. Two pages of duties is harder to read than two pages of figures, and the reader gives you seconds either way.
Can I upload the CV I already have?
Yes, as a PDF or a Word .docx, up to 5MB and 50 pages. A scanned PDF or a photograph of a printed CV is rejected, because there is no text layer in it to read, and you are told so rather than left with an empty box. There is no OCR.
